We respect the rights of all the people involved in all our business activities and dealings. We comply with the United Nations International Bill of Human Rights (Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Covenants on Human Rights), the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the United Nations Global Compact, the International Labor Organization's (ILO) Declaration of the Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and other international standards and the laws/ordinances of each country and region. Moreover, if there is a contradiction between internationally-recognized human rights and the laws/ordinances of each country and region, we always pursue a way to pay the maximum respect to international human rights principles.
We do not engage in discrimination based on nationality, race, ethnicity, country of birth, birthplace, skin color, religion, thoughts and beliefs, language, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation and gender expression, age, disability status, marital status, pregnancy, health condition, form of employment or social status in any of our business activities or dealings.
We ensure an appropriate working environment and health and safety without long working hours or forced labor. We prohibit all forms of harassment. We also comply with labor principles and regulations defined by the ILO and other international organizations to eliminate forced labor and child labor. We respect rights such as the freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining. We fairly pay appropriate wages higher than the minimum wage. At the same time, we maintain the principle of equal pay for equal work.
We protect the privacy of all people involved in our business activities and dealings such as employees, clients and final consumers.
We understand the processes relating to human rights in our business activities and dealings. Upon that, we identify and evaluate actual and potential issues through human rights due diligence. We then work to correct those issues and to eliminate risks. We also maintain a mechanism to handle grievances picked up from those with grievances both inside and outside the company. We then take remedies when necessary and reflect them in our overall policy. We reliably operate this cycle. We will enhance the transparency of our initiatives. We will then appropriately disclose those contents and engage in dialogue with those both inside and outside our company.
We encourage all the companies and individual customer with whom we do business to respect human rights.
We promote awareness and understanding of the importance of protecting human rights by providing human rights training to all our officers and employees*. We aim to instill the importance of human rights so that concrete activities are incorporated into daily business activities and dealings.
* Including contract employees and temporary employees
We clearly appoint a director in charge of this policy. The Board of Directors then provides oversight to ensure this policy is put into practice.
