We Will Expand Our Common Value Through CSR Promotion Office's Activities Combined with Our Business Strategy

The CSR Promotion Office was established in January of this year as part of the Business Strategy Department that I supervise. The new office began with seven members: one of which is dedicated to the office full-time while the other six members also have duties in the Personnel, Corporate Planning, General Affairs and other departments. Most recently, after the establishment of our corporate vision last year, we determined the material issues that the Company shares with society as well as our human rights policy, environmental policy, social contribution policy and other policies to define and clearly state the basic concepts for the management of the BellSystem24 Group. Communicating them to employees and other stakeholders, implementing specific activities and reporting on those activities will be among the important initiatives. Currently, the BellSystem24 Group has an office named the CSR Promotion Office, but its goal is to transition to creating shared value (CSV), which is a step beyond CSR. This is an approach that increases economic and social value together. It is associated with the pursuit of profit as a business that also provides solutions to social issues. Our eyes are set on this ideal. This is why the CSR Promotion Office is a part of the Business Strategy Department, which handles the comprehensive business strategies of the BellSystem24 Group, and not a part of a division related to general affairs or public relations.

For example, what we do to this end includes the diversification of employment of people with disabilities. The effort with Quon Chocolate and MI CAFETO, which are operated by the La Barca Group, is a considerably advanced example that suggests the ways that CSV should operate in the future through employment.
The aim of the La Barca Group's chocolate business is more than just providing people with disabilities opportunities to work. First, its goal is to profit purely by selling very tasty chocolate. By doing this, it is our strong desire that we enrich the lives of people with disabilities. With MI CAFETO, we share the goal of creating a profitable collaboration so that our colleagues with disabilities can find their jobs to be more worthwhile. We will continue to be committed to contributing to society through collaborative projects with our partners who are CSV pioneers in Japan.

Human resources are the biggest management resource of the BellSystem24 Group. As in other business activities, the foundation of our CSR activities is in our strategy of improving both the quality and quantity of our human capital. Thoroughly sticking to this strategy will establish a cycle that enhances the quality of the service that we provide to customers, leading to greater profit and benefits being provided to society. This is the basis of our CSR activities that are integrated into our business strategy.
Communicating plans and the results of an activity in ways that are easy to understand is also important. As we do this as part of our business strategy, we must convince our investors and business partners in addition to our colleagues in the BellSystem24 Group. Though we cannot quantify everything that we do, it is important that we set specific targets.
CSR will occupy a large part of our next mid-term management plan which we are preparing for the next fiscal year. We will contribute to society based on the understanding that CSR is the bedrock of our growth strategy and that, by putting CSR into practice, we will ensure the health of the BellSystem24 Group so that it will be highly regarded for comprehensively growing stronger overall through its CSR activities.
