Sustainable Procurement Policy

We support the realization of a sustainable society through responsible procurement throughout our supply chain based on our group's Purpose and Code of Conduct.

We promote activities in accordance with this policy established on the following pillars: human rights, labor, and health and safety; compliance with laws/ordinances and respect for international norms; environmental protection; quality and safety; information security; and coexistence with society.

Our business involves hiring and employing many human resources. In light of that, we pay particular attention to ensuring that all hiring and employment processes, agency fees and commissions, information and other areas are appropriately managed from a human rights perspective as well. Moreover, given the public nature of the services we provide, we continue to maintain a high level of quality, stability, and security for information and infrastructure.

1. Human Rights, Labor, and Health and Safety

We promote initiatives to respect human rights throughout our supply chain based on our group's Human Rights Policy. To that end, we work with society and all our business partners to respect the human rights of everyone involved in all our business and transactions. In addition, we actively promote activities aiming to improve the work environment and to ensure health and safety. We comply with international treaties, norms and the laws of each country and region concerning human rights, respect the rights of workers, give consideration to their health, and strive to ensure and improve a good work environment.

2. Compliance with Laws/Ordinances and Respect for International Norms

We comply with the laws of Japan and other countries concerning procurement and engage in activities trusted by society with high ethical standards throughout our supply chain based on our group's Code of Conduct. We conduct fair and equitable transactions and build relationships of trust with all our business partners in a free and competitive environment. We prevent bribery and corruption and block all relationships with anti-social forces.

3. Environmental Protection

We engage in procurement activities that consider conservation of the global environment, climate change, biodiversity and other issues based on our group's Environmental Policy. Aiming to realize a recycling-oriented society, we conduct appropriate environmental management. We do this by promoting the provision of products and services that efficiently use energy and resources and that reduce the impacts on the global environment as far as possible throughout our supply chain. Moreover, we proactively introduce new technologies that reduce the environmental impacts.

4. Quality and Safety

We prioritize quality and safety in procurement. We strive to maintain and improve quality and safety together with all our business partners aiming to provide products and services with even greater value. Human resources are at the core of our group. As such, we place a greater emphasis on activities relating to human rights, labor, health and safety, hiring and temporary staffing, employment, and education and training.

5. Information Security

We strictly observe our duty of confidentiality, prevent information leaks, and promote strict management based on laws for confidential information, including personal information and privacy, in all our procurement activities. We continue to engage in activities to minimize risks, such as access control, vulnerability management and threat monitoring, in preparation for cyber-attacks.

6. Coexistence with Society (Contribution to Local Communities)

We build long-term relationships of trust with our business partners through fair and equitable procurement activities. We work in partnership with all our business partners to resolve social issues throughout our supply chain aiming to coexist with society. We share values with local communities, respect the rights of residents and aim to realize a prosperous society.
